Landscape Design Workshop

Class description: This workshop covers the basics of landscape design for novice designers and those wanting to refine their approach. Topics include: plant selection, plant/function/ site relations, design intent, organization of space, & landscape design process. Exercises include: landscape character, design synthesis, functional analysis, & integration of plants/architecture/site conditions.

Attendees will need to bring the following materials:

  • architect and engineer’s scales
  • pencils
  • erasers
  • French curve or flexible curve
  • drafting dots
  • triangles (30, 60, and 90 degree)
  • tape
  • circle templates (small - up to 1” circles, and large - 1-3” circles)

Attendees will be provided:

  • drafting paper
  • rolls of trace paper (12”)
  • copies
  • vellum
