CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGER

Walters Gardens Inc., located in Zeeland, MI, is a leading grower of perennial plants since 1946. We take great pride in the superior quality of our young plants and field grown products, diverse product selection, customer-focused staff, our extensive hybridizing program, and the ability to offer the best new introductions from around the world. We are currently looking for a Customer Relationship Manager to manage the Customer Care Department and to coordinate communications and work activities between the Customer Care and Sales Departments.
 
The right candidate will be an experienced professional who has developed and implemented successful sales campaigns, trained and developed staff members on sales tactics and calling campaigns. They will be a team player who can effectively bridge the sales and customer care departments in addition to working with other company departments. An understanding of, and applicable experience in, the perennial or horticulture industry is preferred.
 
The essential duties of this position include:
• Manage Customer Care staffing levels, schedule to coordinate work activities of staff within the Customer Care and Sales Departments.
• Evaluate quality and performance of employees and provide necessary training
• Coordinate and participates in customer visits and tours
• Collaborate with colleagues to communicate any changes or issues and make sure expectations are aligned
• Assist sales directors and managers with organizational skills and administrative responsibilities needed to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained
• Develop and implement calling campaigns, including training staff on campaign contents and calling techniques
• Oversee the EDI process and exhibits working knowledge of B2B systems
• Resolve customer concerns, answer questions and recommend solutions to customer complaints.
• Supervise Customer Care staff, consisting of: hiring decisions, terminations, time authorizations, performance evaluations, professional development, coaching of direct reports, building morale among staff
• Manage and further develop Customer Care contacts and relationships with brokers, Independent Reps, & large customers
