The Michigan nursery, perennial plant production, Christmas tree, sod producers, landscaping and lawn care industries contribute $1.2 billion to Michigan’s economy. Nursery and perennial plant producers generate about $291 million* in annual sales and distribute their products into 35 states, Mexico and Canada, making us the 2nd largest agriculture commodity group in Michigan and the 5th largest nursery industry in the nation. Our landscape contractors and designers generate $655 million** in annual sales, and our lawn service companies and sod growers have expenses that contribute $272 million*** to Michigan’s economy.
